What we collect,
and what we don't.
Venuedepth is a research tool. It does not connect to your broker, hold your money, or make money from advertising, so there is very little reason for it to know anything about you — and it mostly doesn't. This page says exactly what it does know.

Who is responsible
Venuedepth operates this site from Norway and is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@venuedepth.com about anything on this page, including any request described under your rights.
If you never subscribe
We do not know who you are. There is no account to create, no sign-up, no tracking cookie, no analytics script, and no advertising network on this site. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing to sell to anyone else.
The fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font provider, so simply reading a page here does not report your visit to a third party.
What stays in your browser
Your watchlist, your portfolio holdings and your chosen base currency are saved in your own browser's local storage. They are never transmitted to us, never stored on our servers, and we cannot read them. Clearing your browser data deletes them permanently — we hold no copy and cannot restore them.
This is also why your portfolio does not follow you to another device: it never left the first one.
If you subscribe
Once you buy a plan, we store a small record so the site knows what you have paid for:
- your Stripe customer identifier
- the email address you gave at checkout
- which plan you are on, whether it is active, and when the period ends
Your card details never reach us. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe on their own pages; we receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and nothing else. We cannot see your card number, and we could not charge it ourselves if we wanted to.
We also set one cookie, vd_customer. It holds your Stripe customer identifier, signed so it cannot be altered or forged, and it is what tells the site you are a subscriber. It is strictly necessary for the service you have paid for — it is not used for tracking or advertising, which is why this site has no cookie banner.
What our servers log
The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes each request and records ordinary technical information such as IP address, timestamp and the page requested. This is what makes it possible to serve pages and to see whether the site is broken. We do not use it to identify individuals.
The AI read
Subscribers see a plain-English summary of a company's figures, written by an AI model running on Cloudflare's infrastructure. The only thing sent to that model is the company's own numbers — price trend, volatility, SEC-filed valuation and analyst consensus. Nothing about you is sent with it, and the summaries are stored per company rather than per person.
Who else is involved
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions and receipts. They receive your email and payment details directly from you.
- Cloudflare — hosting, the database holding the subscriber record above, and the AI model.
That is the complete list. We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and no analytics or marketing company receives anything from this site. Both providers operate internationally, so data may be processed outside Norway and the EEA under the safeguards in their own terms.
The market data on this site comes from the SEC, Nasdaq, exchanges and official newsrooms. Those requests are made by our servers, not your browser, so reading a company page here does not tell any of them anything about you.
How long we keep it
The subscriber record is kept while your subscription is active and afterwards only as long as we need it for accounting and tax obligations. Ask us to delete it and we will remove everything we are not legally required to keep. Records held by Stripe are governed by their own retention rules.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, receive a copy in a portable format, object to how we use it, and ask us to restrict its use. We rely on performing our contract with you as the legal basis for the subscriber record, and on our legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website for server logs.
Email hello@venuedepth.com and we will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) or to the supervisory authority where you live.
Children
This service is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes affecting existing subscribers will be sent to the email address on the subscription.
Venuedepth is a research tool, not a broker, and holds no customer funds. Nothing on this site is investment advice. See also the terms of service, or email hello@venuedepth.com.
